Summary
The Tigershark Take-down recurve bow by SAS sets the bar high for recurve bows on today's market, with unrivaled value/ money and fantastic use ratings. Quite frankly, the least you can expect from one of the most acclaimed archery gear brands, is to step up from an already strong line of traditional archery bows, with a new flagship that stands out for materials, design and performance. The elegance and edgy look on the finish mirrors a killer performance which can only be tempting to bring out in the woods for a traditional bow hunt, but in modern style.

    Full review

This bow is a recent premium upgrade of the Samick Sage, which is one of the 2015 user’s favorite recurve bows of the Takedown series. Bows in this series are known for their great quality materials and affordability, and the Tigershark is no exception. Also, the fact that SAS is a reputable archery brand will make feel confident that you are purchasing a product of amazing value, as you can tell by looking at the impressive user rating on this bow. Let’s examine the features of this amazing recurve bow more closely.

    Woods

The main difference between the Tigershark and the previous generation Takedown recurves such as the Samick Sage and the Spyder is in the woods, which are of higher quality on the Tigertshark. The riser on the Tigershark is made of a combination of 4 different high strength woods(dymond wood, tiger wood, white oak, and padouk), and also features an elegant new satin finish.

    Limbs

The limbs on the Tigershark are similar to those on the Samick and Spyder bows. They feature improved limb pockets, reinforced limb tips and improved flush limb bolts. The limbs are compatible with a fast-flight bowstring for whenever you feel it’s time for an upgrade (the bow comes with a dacron bow string which is a tad noisy and tends to vibrate more)  For the fast flight bowstring, we recommend the Flemish by SAS (made in USA). The limbs are also 100% interchangeable between the Tigershark, the Spyder and the Samick limbs, and spare limbs of all weights for all the Takedown models can be purchased separately here, if needed.

    Performance

Users have commented positively on the comfort of the grip and smoothness of the draw. The handshock was noted to be absolutely 0 on this bow which makes shooting accurate and pleasurable. With 50+ lbs limbs the bow has reportedly been used for hunting, successfully.

    Versatility

The TigerShark is 62 INCH long, and you can choose a draw weight setup within a 20-60lbs range, which makes it an excellent choice for both beginners and pro archers, right of left-handed. The limbs can be conveniently removed for easy transport and in field or outdoor and can be easily reassembled once you’ve reach your destination. Additional limbs of different weights can also be purchased separately (no need to buy another bow), in case the poundage setup needs to be changed or upgraded.

    Accessories and package

The bow package comes with an allen wrench for assembling, an arrow rest and a dacron bowstring. All accessories bushings are black on this bow, compared to brass on the Spyder. There is also a stringer tool included in the package. The bow shoots both carbon and aluminum arrows (not included).

The Tigershark comes with a 1 year manufacturer warranty (USA only, when registered on Southwest Archery website) and lifelong customer service and support.
